Turkish troops eliminate 2 PKK/YPG members in northern Syria
Türkiye's Defense Ministry has reported the successful neutralization of two PKK/YPG members in the regions encompassing Operation Peace Spring and Operation Olive Branch in northern Syria.
The Defense Ministry shared this development in an official statement released on Friday.
The action was prompted by the PKK/YPG members' aggressive acts, as they opened harassing fire upon Turkish troops stationed in the Peace Spring and Olive Branch areas.
The intent behind these actions was perceived as an attempt to disrupt the established peace and security environment.
It's noteworthy that the term “neutralized” is employed by the Turkish Defense Ministry in its announcements to denote the elimination of such threats. This term is used in lieu of “killed,” “captured,” or “surrendered”. (ILKHA)
