The strike targeted a vehicle belonging to the PKK on the Snine road within the Sidakan district of Erbil province.

The attack resulted in the killing of a high-ranking PKK official and two other members of the group.

The timing of the strike is noteworthy as Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is visiting Erbil for the first time.
