5.0 magnitude earthquake strikes Malatya, Türkiye
A 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Yeşilyurt district of Türkiye's eastern Malatya province on Thursday, the country's Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency announced.
The earthquake occurred at around 08:35 TSI, with its epicenter at a latitude of 38.304 degrees north and a longitude of 38.181 degrees east, and at a depth of 7 km.
The tremor was felt in nearby provinces, including Adıyaman, Elazığ, Gaziantep, and Diyarbakır.
There were no immediate reports of damages or casualties, according to local reports.
The earthquake comes just over six months after two major earthquakes struck southern Türkiye and northern Syria, killing more than 50,000 people and leaving hundreds of thousands homeless. (ILKHA)
