Ramanlı convened with members of the press at the teacher's house in Türkiye’s eastern Bitlis province, using the opportunity to address pressing issues on the national agenda.

He shared that his visits to constituencies had been initiated during the parliamentary recess, and the historical city of Bitlis was a significant stop on their itinerary.

Addressing the concerns of pensioners, Ramanlı underscored the need for swift action. He acknowledged that a common thread of financial difficulties connects various sectors of society, including tradesmen, due to the soaring cost of living. In particular, he highlighted the acute concern surrounding pensioners' livelihoods.

Ramanlı expressed the collective frustration stemming from expectations that pension improvements would follow the wage increases for minimum wage workers and civil servants.

Government declarations that these enhancements would materialize only by year-end raised legitimate concerns.

Ramanlı proposed a more immediate approach, asserting that waiting until the end of the year to address this issue would be insufficient.

Given the current economic landscape marked by rising rents, Ramanlı highlighted the inadequacy of the existing pension rate, which stands at 7,500 TL per month. He emphasized that this sum would not sustain the elderly population in the face of mounting living expenses.

Ramanlı passionately advocated for a more compassionate solution, urging authorities to prioritize a substantial increase in pension payments that align with the essential requirements for retirees to maintain humane living standards.

As the dialogue continues, Ramanlı's calls for urgent pension reforms draw attention to the significance of fostering equitable and dignified lives for pensioners. Amidst broader socio-economic challenges, these appeals resonate with many who seek swift action and tangible improvements in the lives of retirees. (ILKHA)
