Islamic Emirate committed to enhancing working conditions for Afghan university professors

Addressing a gathering of approximately 450 Afghan university professors in Kabul, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the significance of their contributions and the Emirate's dedication to their well-being.

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Kabir acknowledged the invaluable role played by university professors and academic figures in Afghanistan's advancement. The Islamic Emirate is resolute in its support for these individuals, underscoring its desire to retain their expertise and dedication.

Highlighting the Emirate's efforts in the past two years, Abdul Kabir asserted that no harm or threats had befallen any university professor or school teacher in Afghanistan. Rather, they have been accorded respect, and their remuneration and benefits have been consistently provided on schedule.

Abdul Kabir articulated that universities are sanctuaries of knowledge and learning, not platforms for the propagation of foreign ideologies, a departure from the previous administration's approach.

Sheikh Mawlavi Nada Mohammad Nadim, Acting Minister of Higher Education, shared that approximately 450 Afghan university professors, who had temporarily pursued advanced studies abroad, have now returned to contribute to their nation's educational advancement.

In alignment with this vision, Acting Minister of Information and Culture, Mullah Khairullah Khairkhah, stressed the importance of rejuvenating the intellectual spirit among the younger generation. He emphasized the need to capitalize on the opportunities presented after years of transition.

Addressing the critical role of professors, Mawlavi Noorullah Nouri, Acting Minister of Border and Tribal Affairs, and Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Hanafi, Acting Minister of Vice and Virtue, reaffirmed that the nation's future hinges on the guidance provided by these educators. They underscored the significance of instilling an Islamic and patriotic ethos within students.

Returning professors shared their dedication to fostering the intellectual growth and self-reliance of Afghanistan through education. Stability and progress, they asserted, are inextricably linked with education, and their mission is to contribute to the resurgence of universities in order to achieve this objective.

It is noteworthy that these professors had embarked on overseas journeys to complete advanced studies at the master's and doctoral levels. (ILKHA)
