Afghanistan's Islamic Emirate announces August 15 as National Victory Day
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has formally declared August 15 as a nationwide Victory Day, commemorating the day when Kabul was taken over by the new administration.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs on Sunday revealed that Tuesday, Asad 24, 1402 (equivalent to August 15 in the Persian Calendar), has been designated as a day of victory for the Jihad (holy war) led by Afghanistan's people under the guidance of the Islamic Emirate.
This heroic effort was directed against the United States and its allies. To honor this historic achievement, the nation will observe this day as a public holiday across its expanse.
The declaration holds profound symbolism, recognizing the indomitable determination of Afghanistan's populace in confronting the presence of US-led NATO forces, which entered the country in 2001 on the pretext of combating terrorism.
Subsequently, the departure of these international forces transpired in August 2021, following a period of resistance mounted by Islamic forces under the leadership of Mawlawi Hibatullah Akhundzada.
This newly established Victory Day stands as a testament to the nation's resilience and historic journey. (ILKHA)
