During the visit, Al-Haddad was accompanied by Mukhtar al-Ushri, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood's Shura council.

Al-Haddad appealed to Yapıcıoğlu to assist in conveying a significant plea to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, requesting the liberation of over 200 individuals, including the elderly, women, children, and those in poor health, who are currently detained in Egyptian prisons.

Al-Haddad said: "Last July, when we learned that Abdulfettah Sisi was visiting Turkey, we sought to meet with you, but unfortunately, you were abroad at the time. We currently possess a dossier containing the names of those who are ailing, elderly, and female – individuals who, by law, are eligible for release. However, to facilitate this, a strong and influential figure must make the plea. We entrust these documents to you, with the hope that you can relay them to President Erdogan, who can subsequently bring this matter to the attention of Egyptian authorities. The conditions within the prisons are dire, and lives are being lost daily due to inadequate medical care, substandard living conditions, and instances of torture."

Al-Haddad underscored that the challenges faced by Egyptians in Turkey have intensified since 2021, following the negotiations that led to the reestablishment of diplomatic ties between Turkey and Egypt. He highlighted the predicament of recent arrivals from Egypt, who have encountered difficulties in obtaining residence permits, and those whose previously granted permits have expired without renewal.

Drawing attention to the plight of many who have become undocumented in Turkey, Al-Haddad lamented that this issue has been exploited for political gain by opposition factions. He expressed optimism that a resolution to this problem can be reached.

In response, HUDA PAR Chairman Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu acknowledged that nations often foster relationships for political expediency but emphasized the paramount importance of Muslim brotherhood. He stressed that such relationships should be guided by a sense of fraternity among Muslims.

In a significant gesture, HÜDA PAR officials diligently documented the appeals and received the comprehensive documents provided by the Ikhwan al-Muslimeen representatives.

The meeting between Al-Haddad and Yapıcıoğlu highlights the collaborative efforts aimed at advocating for the rights and well-being of detained individuals in Egypt's prisons. (ILKHA)
