16.7 kg of synthetic drugs seized in southeastern Türkiye
In a major drug bust, law enforcement authorities in Türkiye's southeastern province of Hakkari have seized 16.7 kilograms of synthetic drugs.
The drugs were found hidden in a vehicle that was stopped for inspection in the Yüksekova district, according to a statement by the governor’s office.
A trained narcotics detection dog named Rüzgâr helped to sniff out the drugs, which were concealed in the seat and back sponge of the rear seats.
Two suspects were arrested in connection with the drug bust. They are now in custody and are being questioned by authorities.
The seizure is a significant blow to the illegal drug trade in the region. It is also a testament to the effectiveness of collaboration between law enforcement and canine units. (ILKHA)
