Turkish coast guard rescues 62 migrants pushed back by Greece
The Turkish Coast Guard rescued 62 irregular migrants who were pushed into Turkish territorial waters by Greek forces off the coast of Ayvacık district in Çanakkale on Wednesday.
The migrants were found on a rubber boat that was drifting in the Aegean Sea. They were reportedly abandoned by Greek forces after their boat was intercepted.
The Turkish Coast Guard teams brought the migrants to shore and provided them with medical attention.
They were then taken to the Ayvacık Foreigners' Repatriation Center, where they will be processed for deportation. (ILKHA)
