Türkiye offers condolences to Pakistan for train accident victims
The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued a press release expressing condolences to Pakistan following a train accident that killed at least 30 people and injured more than 100 others.
The accident occurred on Sunday when a passenger train derailed in the northeast Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The train was traveling from Karachi to Rawalpindi when it derailed near the town of Mardan.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry said that it was "deeply saddened" by the loss of life and extended its condolences to the families of the victims. The ministry also wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The accident is the latest in a series of train accidents in Pakistan. In 2022, there were at least 10 train accidents that killed more than 100 people.
The Pakistani government has ordered an investigation into the cause of the accident. (ILKHA)
