Türkiye experienced a remarkable surge in card payments during June, reaching a staggering 639 billion Turkish Liras ($23.7 billion), marking a remarkable 109% increase compared to the same period last year, as reported by the Interbank Card Center (BKM).
The data revealed a significant rise in credit card payments, totaling 515 billion liras, reflecting a remarkable 112% increase from the previous year. Debit card payments also witnessed an astounding growth, amounting to 113.2 billion liras, which represented a jaw-dropping 1,000% increase compared to the same period last year.
Prepaid card transactions showed noteworthy growth as well, reaching 10.6 billion liras in June, marking an impressive 98% increase year-on-year.
