Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman emphasized the need for interaction with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to take action against elements that have sought refuge in Afghanistan and are responsible for terrorist events in Pakistan.

The prominent religious leader also stressed the importance of a joint strategy between Afghanistan and Pakistan to effectively counter terrorism and enhance bilateral relations. He called for collaborative efforts to prevent terrorism, refrain from interfering in each other's internal affairs, and put an end to cross-border terrorist attacks, with the aim of fostering better ties between the neighboring nations.

In response, the Islamic Emirate's spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, denied the presence of any terrorist groups in Afghanistan that target Pakistan's interests. He underscored the significance of collaboration between the two countries to maintain peace and security, highlighting the need for commitment to prevention and effective coordination to address shared risks.

Political analysts view positive relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan as mutually beneficial. They say that increased cooperation between the two countries could help to improve security and stability in the region.

The discussion comes in the aftermath of a tragic attack on a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam gathering in Bajaur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which resulted in the death of 56 people and left over 200 others injured. The Islamic Emirate condemned the attack as a heinous crime. (ILKHA)
