HÜDA PAR condemns Tarsus Municipality's theatre play as an assault on beliefs
In a fervent response to the recent theatrical production by the Tarsus Municipality, Şehzade Demir, Secretary General of the HÜDA PAR party and Member of Parliament for Gaziantep, voiced strong condemnation, stating that the play represents a direct attack on the deeply-held beliefs of the people.
The Tarsus Municipality, led by the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), has come under scrutiny for staging a theatre play that has sparked controversy due to its offensive content. Demir accused the production of undermining moral values by presenting scenes that humiliate Islamic hijab, causing discontent among the community.
Taking to his social media account, Şehzade Demir expressed his disapproval of the theatrical piece titled "Summer Fun under the Stars," which has been performed daily by the Tarsus Municipality. He deemed the play a disgraceful representation that directly challenges the cherished values and religious beliefs of the people. Furthermore, Demir held the authorities who allowed the production responsible, stating that they share the guilt with those behind the play.
In his criticism of the CHP mentality, Demir used strong language, likening it to a "cancerous tumour." His remarks reflect the intensifying tensions over issues of cultural sensitivity and religious expression in the country. (ILKHA)
