Erdogan urges Putin to avoid heightening tensions
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday to avoid heightening tensions between their nations following Russia's targeting of crucial grain facilities in Ukraine.
During a phone conversation, Erdogan emphasized the importance of maintaining stability and called for restraint to prevent any actions that could exacerbate the situation. The Turkish leader's office highlighted the significance of a grain deal that served as a "bridge for peace."
The grain deal, which was brokered by Türkiye and the United Nations, had allowed Ukraine to export grain through its Black Sea ports.
Unfortunately, the agreement collapsed last month when Moscow decided to withdraw its support. (ILKHA)
