60 irregular migrants and organizer apprehended in Aegean Sea
The Provincial Gendarmerie Command in Türkiye’s southwestern Aydın province has apprehended 60 irregular migrants and one organizer involved in human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
The operation was conducted in the Aegean Sea, near the coastal area of Didim district. Authorities identified a boat carrying irregular migrants and intercepted it. The 60 migrants were safely detained, along with one person suspected to be the organizer responsible for facilitating the unlawful movement of migrants.
The alleged organizer was arrested by the judicial authorities as part of the ongoing legal procedures. The 60 irregular migrants were taken into custody and later handed over to the Provincial Migration Administration after completing the necessary administrative protocols.
