The Bahraini ministry expressed its deep concern and condemnation of the actions of Salwan Momika, an individual of Iraqi origin, who burned the Quran under police protection in front of Stockholm Mosque on June 28 during Eid al-Adha. Momika also disrespected the Quran and the Iraqi flag in front of the Iraqi Embassy in Stockholm on July 20, again under police protection.

The Bahraini ministry urged Sweden to implement measures to prevent such offensive actions, which have deeply provoked Muslims and violated international principles, covenants, and resolutions.

The ministry stressed the urgency for Swedish authorities to swiftly and decisively halt these abusive practices that exceed the boundaries and ethics of free speech. They called for active support in upholding religious rights and freedoms and preventing the misuse of religious symbols and sanctities, in line with international efforts to respect all religions and beliefs.

The Bahraini ministry's protest note signifies their serious concern and condemnation of these heinous actions, calling for accountability and respect for religious sentiments. The situation highlights the importance of promoting religious tolerance and safeguarding the sanctity of religious symbols in the international community. (ILKHA)
