Prophet's Lovers issues message commemorating Ashura Day
The Prophet's Lovers Foundation has issued a heartfelt message on Ashura Day, marking the solemn anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, the revered grandson of the Prophet of Islam, which occurred on the 10th of Muharram in Karbala.
The day is observed on the 10th of Muharram in remembrance of the tragic events that unfolded in Karbala in 680 AD, a historic battle between good and evil.
Mehmet Ata Yaçin, the head of the foundation's Gaziantep branch, emphasized the lasting impact of the Karbala Massacre on the hearts of Muslims, even after 1383 years have passed since the fateful event. He highlighted Imam Hussain's steadfast commitment to Quranic values of justice and equality, underscoring his role as an exemplar for Muslims worldwide.
"Ashura Day holds exceptional importance in Islam, as it has witnessed significant events in the lives of many prophets," stated Yaçin. He recalled how Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) observed fasting on this day even before Ramadan fasting was obligatory, emphasizing its virtue. The day also marks the salvation of Moses and the Israelites from the oppressive Egyptian pharaoh, a miraculous event that unfolded on Ashura Day.
Drawing parallels between historical and contemporary struggles, Yaçin drew attention to the ongoing brutalities against Muslims in various parts of the Islamic world. He lamented the suffering endured in regions such as Syria, Arakan, Yemen, Kashmir, Palestine, Egypt, and East Turkestan, where Muslims face oppression and persecution daily.
"As we commemorate Ashura Day, we implore Allah Almighty to bring an end to the relentless brutality, massacres, and genocides suffered by our Muslim brothers and sisters worldwide," said Yaçin. He expressed a fervent wish for Allah to answer their prayers and guide the Islamic Ummah and all oppressed people towards salvation.
The message from the Prophet's Lovers Foundation serves as a call for unity, compassion, and hope amidst the ongoing challenges faced by Muslims across the globe. As believers reflect on the legacy of Imam Hussain's resistance in Karbala, they are reminded of the significance of striving for justice and dignity in the face of oppression. (ILKHA)
