Russia decides to increase tomato import quota from Türkiye
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation has announced an increase in the quota for tomato purchases from Türkiye.
The annual limit, which was previously set at 350 thousand tons, has now been raised to 500 thousand tons.
The decision was made in response to a rise in tomato prices in Russia for the first time since the end of March.
Turkish government officials had mentioned on April 18, 2023, that the tomato quota to be sent to Russia was increased to 500 thousand tons following a meeting between President Erdogan and Putin.
The import ban on tomatoes was lifted on November 1, 2017, and since then, the quota has been gradually increased. (ILKHA)
