In a statement on Thursday, the ministry said that the act was "a heinous crime" and "a clear provocation against Muslims." The ministry urged Sweden to implement preventive measures to combat such hateful acts.

The ministry referred to a resolution passed by the U.N. Human Rights Council, emphasizing that these actions qualify as religious hate crimes. Türkiye expects Sweden to take effective measures to deter such incidents, aligning with its international obligations.

Furthermore, Türkiye expressed its willingness to collaborate with countries facing similar incidents, particularly in addressing issues related to xenophobia, anti-Muslim sentiments, racism, and discrimination.

The statement said that Türkiye "will continue to raise its voice against all forms of intolerance and discrimination, and to work for the promotion of peace, tolerance, and understanding." (ILKHA)
