Russia withdraws from JCC, threatens global food security
Google News'te Doğruhaber'e abone olun.

The JCC was established to facilitate coordination and cargo inspections involving five officials from each of the four participating sides: Türkiye, the United Nations, Russia, and Ukraine.

Russia's suspension of the grain deal came after Moscow asserted that it cannot export its grain and fertilizers due to the presence of secondary sanctions that hinder crucial payment, insurance, and other procedural aspects of the trade.

Türkiye remains committed to the continuation of the deal with the involvement of all four parties.

Efforts are ongoing to address the obstacles that led to the suspension, and the JCC will continue operating with an adequate number of staff until progress is achieved.

Türkiye is in communication with both Russia and Ukraine, as well as U.N. officials, to address the situation and resolve the issues affecting the grain deal.

The Black Sea is a major shipping route for grain exports, and Russia's withdrawal from the deal will likely lead to increased food insecurity around the world.

According to the UN, Russia and Ukraine account for about 30% of global wheat exports, and the war has already disrupted global food markets. The withdrawal from the deal will only make the situation worse.

The withdrawal from the deal is likely to lead to higher food prices, as there will be less grain available on the market. This will have a particularly devastating impact on low-income countries, where people already spend a large portion of their income on food.

The withdrawal from the deal could also lead to political instability in some countries, as people become more desperate for food. This could lead to protests and riots, and could even destabilize governments.

The withdrawal from the deal is likely to increase tensions between Russia and the West. The West has already imposed sanctions on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine, and the withdrawal from the deal could lead to further sanctions. This could make it even more difficult to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. (ILKHA)
