HÜDA PAR Chairman pays condolence visit for late leader of Menzil Community
Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu, the Chairman of HÜDA PAR (Free Cause Party), made a heartfelt visit to pay condolences for the late Sheikh Seyyid Abdülbaki el-Husayni, the revered leader of the Menzil Community, who passed away last week.
The mourning ceremony, held at the Seyyid Abdulhakim El Huseyni Complex in Menzil village, located in the Kahta district, witnessed a gathering of devoted followers. Yapıcıoğlu joined in expressing his deepest condolences to the grieving family, conveying prayers for Allah's mercy upon the departed soul. He extended his sympathies and offered support to the mourning relatives in their time of grief.
Accompanying Yapıcıoğlu during this solemn visit were Faruk Dinç, a respected Member of Parliament from Mersin, and other notable party officials.
The Menzil Community, founded by Abdülhakim Erol, holds a significant position within the Naqshbandi order. Its name derives from the village of Menzil, where Abdülhakim Erol established and nurtured his spiritual following. Born in 1902 in Siirt's Baykan district, Abdülhakim Erol's profound teachings provided the foundation for the community's growth and expansion.
Following Abdülhakim Erol's passing in 1972, leadership of the community was passed down to his son, Muhammet Raşit Erol. After Muhammet Raşit Erol's demise in 1993, Sheikh Abdülbaki Erol assumed the role of leader. For over a century, the Menzil Community has remained deeply rooted in the village of Menzil.
While official records are absent, estimates suggest that the Menzil Community boasts a substantial membership of approximately one to two million individuals. It holds the largest following among the various branches of the Naqshbandi order. The community is well-organized across Turkey's cities, with an average of 15,000 visitors seeking the wisdom and guidance of the sheikh daily. To accommodate the influx of devotees, a nearby bus station was erected.
While the Menzil Community primarily comprises members from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, recent years have witnessed notable socio-economic development within their ranks.
The passing of Sheikh Abdülbaki al-Husayni has left a void in the Menzil Community and the broader spiritual landscape. Followers mourn the loss of their beloved leader, cherishing the spiritual legacy he leaves behind. The funeral prayer in Menzil, Adıyaman, promises to be a solemn occasion where devoted followers will pay their final respects to a remarkable spiritual guide. (ILKHA)
