"The Ministry of Defense receives a lot of requests regarding the further joint training system for the Armed Forces and the fighters of the Wagner PMC," the Belarusian Defense Ministry stated in a Telegram statement. "We inform you that the military department and the management of the company have developed a roadmap for the near future for the training and transfer of experience between units of various branches of the military."

The ministry released a video showcasing what it claimed to be Wagner fighters providing instruction to Belarusian soldiers at a military range near the town of Osipovichi, located approximately 90 km (56 miles) southeast of the capital, Minsk.

According to sources familiar with the matter, some Wagner fighters have been present in Belarus since at least Tuesday. The mutiny carried out by Wagner, which involved seizing control of a major military headquarters in southern Russia and advancing towards Moscow, posed a significant risk of pushing Russia into civil war, as stated by President Vladimir Putin.

In order to avert this potential crisis, the Kremlin reached an agreement whereby Wagner's leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin, disbanded his mercenaries and relocated to Belarus, in exchange for Russia dropping charges related to the mutiny.

The development of the Wagner group in Belarus is a significant development, as it could indicate that Russia is seeking to expand its influence in the country. It is also a reminder of the potential for instability in Russia, as the Wagner group is a powerful and well-armed force that could be used to further destabilize the country. (ILKHA)
