Death toll from heavy rains in India exceeds 100
At least 20 more people have died in rain-related incidents across north India, bringing the death toll to more than 100.
The heaviest rains have been in Himachal Pradesh, where 31 people have died since Tuesday. The state has also reported a total of 80 deaths since the onset of the monsoon season.
Uttarakhand has also been badly affected, with five people killed in rain-related incidents. Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Rajasthan have each reported one death.
The rainfall activity has ebbed in the region after three days of onslaught, but the death toll is expected to rise as rescue teams continue to search for missing people. (ILKHA)
