Hamas condemns zionist aggression on Jenin, vows resistance
Hazem Qassem, a spokesman for the Hamas Movement, said in a press statement issued on Monday that the Israeli aggression on Jenin will not achieve its goals, holding "the israeli fascist extremist government responsible for the attack."
Jenin has proven throughout history that it is unbreakable and has a great ability to resist the enemy, Qassem added.
He further hailed Palestinian resistance fighters who are fighting "the israeli barbaric aggression," asserting that the Palestinian people will continue their struggle till freedom and independence.
For his part, the head of Hamas’s political bureau, Ismail Haneyya, said that the outcome of the Israeli offensive against Jenin will shape the forthcoming phase.
"Our people, along with the resistance fighters, possess the ability to confront this barbaric aggression," he emphasized.
Haneyya further called on the Palestinian people in the West Bank to support Jenin and safeguard its citizens to foil the Israeli occupation government's schemes.
Earlier Monday, zionist occupation forces launched a massive land and air attack on the West Bank city of Jenin, killing at least five youths and injuring 25 others, including seven in critical condition. (ILKHA)
