The tragic incident, which occurred during a routine traffic check in the Paris suburb of Nanterre, has sparked five consecutive nights of violent protests across cities in France.

During a televised interview, the grandmother, Nadia, directly addressed those involved in the riots, stating: "I appeal to those who are rioting: Please refrain from destructive acts such as vandalizing property, attacking schools, or damaging public transportation. Stop! It is the mothers who rely on buses, it is the mothers who walk these streets."

Authorities reported that overnight, 719 individuals were arrested, marking a decrease in numbers compared to the previous night. Despite this, clashes continue to unfold in various locations, most notably in the southern city of Marseille, while other areas experience a relatively calmer atmosphere.

The plea from Nahel M.'s grandmother serves as a poignant reminder of the need for peace and dialogue during this challenging time.

As the nation grapples with the aftermath of the incident, efforts to find justice and address concerns of police violence remain at the forefront of public discourse. (ILKHA)
