March 6 marked the day with the highest influx of refugees, as more than 142,000 people sought refuge in Poland. In response, over eight million individuals have also checked in from Poland to Ukraine, according to official reports.

Amid the ongoing Russian attack, the Government Security Center has been actively informing Ukrainian refugees about the possibility of seeking shelter in Poland.

Since February 24, Ukrainians have been allowed to cross the border without documents, and they are exempt from COVID-19 quarantine requirements.

The government's decision permits all Ukrainian citizens, even those without valid or complete identification papers, to enter Poland.

The Commander of the Border Guard grants permission for entry during the border crossing, allowing a stay of up to 15 days. After this period, refugees can choose to remain in Poland or return to Ukraine if the situation stabilizes.

Notably, individuals traveling with animals are not required to provide vaccination proof, and their pets do not need to be microchipped.

To further assist refugees, reception points have been established at border crossings, offering support to those without a guaranteed place to stay in Poland. At these facilities, refugees are provided with temporary accommodation, hot meals, beverages, basic medical care, and resting areas.

In a gesture of solidarity, citizens of Ukraine can travel free of charge in class 2 on TLK and IC national economy trains, presenting their Ukrainian passport as proof of citizenship. Travelers will receive complimentary tickets as they navigate their journey.

The border services in Poland are actively working to ensure the safety and well-being of the refugees seeking shelter, extending a helping hand during this challenging time. (ILKHA)
