In the statement, the Turkish government expressed its dismay over israel's move, which marks a new record of illegal settlements surpassing 13,000 units since the beginning of this year. It emphasized that these actions severely undermine the prospects for a two-state solution and a lasting peace in the region.

"It is evident that Israel's approval of approximately 5,700 new housing units in the occupied West Bank, in addition to the already established illegal settlements, seriously undermines the grounds for a two-state solution and the prospects of achieving lasting peace," the statement read.

Türkiye called on the zionist government to immediately halt these settlement activities, which flagrantly violate international law and infringe upon the rights of the Palestinian people in the occupied territories.
