Zelensky highlights Russia's weakness in conflict with Wagner Group
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has weighed in on the ongoing internal conflict between Russian military forces and the private military contractor Wagner Group, shedding light on what he perceives as Russia's underlying weaknesses.
In a recent Twitter statement, Zelensky made a poignant remark, suggesting that those who embrace evil ultimately bring about their own downfall. He lambasted Russia for its utilization of propaganda to cloak its vulnerabilities and the incompetence of its government, stressing that the current state of chaos exceeds the reach of any attempts to conceal it through deceit.
While refraining from explicitly mentioning Russian President Vladimir Putin, Zelensky addressed Putin's fear-mongering tactics by referencing the significant events of 1917 when the Russian Empire underwent a revolutionary transformation. Zelensky insinuated that Putin's actions were destined to yield similar outcomes.
Zelensky emphasized Russia's unmistakable fragility, describing it as a complete and comprehensive lack of strength. He issued a stern warning that the longer Russian troops and mercenaries continue their presence on Ukrainian soil, the more profound the ensuing turmoil, suffering, and challenges Russia will face in the future.
Zelensky's remarks come amidst what Russian President Putin has referred to as a "mutiny" within the Wagner Group against Ukraine. Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner Group, accused Moscow of disseminating falsehoods regarding the motives behind the invasion.
Furthermore, Prigozhin alleged that Russian military leaders had deceived Putin himself and were actively working to dismantle the Wagner Group. In a bold move, Prigozhin called for an armed rebellion to remove Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu from power. (ILKHA)
