Türkiye strongly condemns desecration of Holy Quran by zionist settlers in West Bank

Expressing deep concern over the escalating tensions in the region, the ministry released a statement denouncing the assault on their sacred religious text, the Quran, carried out by a group of Jewish settlers within a mosque situated in the Palestinian territories under zionist occupation.

“The attack on the Quran, a holy book revered by Muslims worldwide, by these settlers is utterly reprehensible,” declared the statement.

The ministry demanded swift action and justice, urging the authorities to promptly identify and prosecute the perpetrators of this abhorrent hate crime.

Furthermore, the ministry vehemently condemned the series of attacks perpetrated by settler groups across different parts of the West Bank, as well as the recent killing of a Palestinian civilian by Israeli forces.

Underlining israel's international legal obligations, the ministry underscored that it is incumbent upon Israel to prevent all forms of aggression against the Palestinian civilian population, their places of worship, residences, and property. Additionally, itl is obligated to combat hate crimes, including those fueled by Islamophobia.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry concluded its statement by reiterating the need for the zionist regime to fulfill its responsibilities in accordance with international law, emphasizing the importance of preserving peace, stability, and respect for all religions within the region. (ILKHA)
