Altun highlighted that refugees, who have been forcibly displaced from their homelands and compelled to rebuild their lives in unfamiliar territories, represent the most pressing human rights challenge of the present century. He underscored that it is the primary political and moral duty of the international community to ensure that refugees regain a sense of dignity and security.

Altun further acknowledged the proactive role undertaken by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in advocating for the oppressed and neglected individuals, who have often been disregarded by a significant portion of the global community. By championing their cause, Erdoğan has not only served as their voice but has also provided a compelling lesson in humanity on the world stage.

Altun further commented on the significance of World Refugee Day, an annual event organized by the United Nations on June 20th. He emphasized that the observance serves as a crucial reminder to the international community of the ethical values and moral conscience it should uphold in addressing the challenges faced by refugees worldwide.

The Director of Communications' message underscores the ongoing commitment of the Turkish government to support refugees and highlights the need for greater global solidarity and responsibility in addressing their needs and ensuring their rights are protected. (ILKHA)
