In April 2023, the total number of paid employees reached 14,516,688, compared to 13,997,517 in the corresponding month of the previous year.

Breaking down the figures by sub-sectors, the industrial sector witnessed a 1% increase in the number of paid employees annually. The construction sector exhibited substantial growth, with a remarkable 11.3% rise in paid employees. The trade-services sector also saw positive growth, with a 4.1% increase in the number of paid employees on an annual basis.

Monthly decrease of 1% in number of paid employees

Contrasting the annual growth, the number of paid employees in Türkiye experienced a slight decline of 1% in April 2023 compared to the previous month.

When examining the sub-sectors, the industrial sector observed a 1.6% decrease in paid employees on a monthly basis. The construction sector experienced a modest decline of 0.9%, while the trade-services sector recorded a decrease of 0.7% in the number of paid employees.
