Afghan PM takes action to address water shortage and drought challenges

During the meeting, Minister Mansoor of the Ministry of Energy and Water emphasized the successful preservation of a substantial water supply in areas previously affected by floods. The Acting Prime Minister, Mawlavi Kabir, acknowledged the prolonged period of severe drought experienced by Afghanistan, which had resulted in widespread water scarcity for farmers and a significant decline in groundwater levels in various cities and regions. Stressing the urgency of the situation, Kabir underscored the critical need to provide clean water not only to Kabul but also to numerous other regions grappling with drought.

In response to the pressing issue, Mawlavi Kabir issued direct instructions to Minister Mansoor, granting him the authority to take necessary actions and overcome the challenges of water scarcity and drought across the country.
