Chicken meat production declines while hen egg production increases in Türkiye
Chicken meat production in Türkiye has reached 180,495 tons, while hen egg production has amounted to 1.65 billion units, according to a statement by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Wednesday.
During the month of April, there was a 3.6% increase in hen egg production and a 0.3% increase in turkey meat production. However, chicken meat production experienced a notable decline of 9.4%, and the number of slaughtered chickens decreased by 12.7% compared to the same month in the previous year.
Analyzing the period from January to April, hen egg production witnessed a growth of 3.8%, while chicken meat production declined by 4.2%. Turkey meat production also saw a decrease of 7.1%, and the number of slaughtered chickens decreased by 7.8% compared to the same period in the previous year.
In April alone, chicken meat production observed a decline of 9.7% compared to the previous month, resulting in a decrease from 199,950 tons to 180,495 tons. Similarly, hen egg production decreased by 4.7% from 1,726,837,000 units to 1,645,561,000 units.
These statistics provide insights into the dynamic nature of the poultry industry in Türkiye, highlighting fluctuations in chicken meat and hen egg production over specific time periods. (ILKHA)
