Lynne Hastings, the UN humanitarian coordinator for the occupied Palestinian territory, recently visited two elderly Palestinians who have resided in their homes since 1954. However, they now confront the disturbing prospect of being forcibly removed from their long-term residences.

Hastings emphasized the blatant violation of international law represented by this practice and called for an immediate halt to the forced eviction of Palestinians. For years, independent experts from the UN have persistently urged the international community to take decisive action in order to prevent the zionist regime's ongoing forced evictions and displacement of Palestinians in East Jerusalem.
