US forces kill civilian in northeastern Syria

According to local sources, an airdrop operation in a Syrian village was accompanied by intense and indiscriminate shooting, targeting the homes of villagers and the surrounding agricultural lands. The incident occurred during the presence of US occupation forces and SDF militants in the area.

Eyewitnesses reported that the village was cordoned off by the US military and SDF militants, who allegedly opened fire on individuals attempting to leave the area. Tragically, one civilian lost their life, while several others sustained injuries as a result of the gunfire.

The presence of US military personnel and equipment in eastern and northeastern Syria has been justified by the stated objective of safeguarding the oilfields in the region from falling into the hands of Daesh terrorists.

However, the Syrian government strongly maintains that this deployment is unlawful and driven by an intention to exploit the country's resources rather than legitimate security concerns.

Former US President Donald Trump has openly acknowledged on multiple occasions that American forces were present in Syria with the specific purpose of gaining access to its oil reserves.

The situation raises concerns about the impact of such actions on the civilian population and the ongoing tensions surrounding foreign military involvement in Syrian territory. (ILKHA)
