The campaign, known as "Lan Yanqasem" in Arabic, was initiated by a group of Palestinian activists on various social media platforms. Their mission is to strengthen the Muslim presence at the holy site and counter israeli attempts to divide Al Aqsa, as reported by the Instagram page “Aksaprotectors.”

The proposed temporal division refers to restrictions on Palestinian access to Al Aqsa during specific times, while spatial division entails the physical separation of the holy site between Muslims and Jews. The online campaign has gained momentum, particularly following the recent announcement of a plan put forth by Amit Halevi, a member of the Likud Party in the Knesset. The plan aims to divide Jerusalem's Al Aqsa Mosque complex, designating Al Qibli Mosque and the southern yards for Muslims, while automatically asserting Jewish control over the northern site, including the Dome of the Rock.

Demonstrating the unity of action within the holy site, over 55,000 worshippers performed Friday prayers at the Al Aqsa Mosque compound. This display of solidarity has fueled the momentum of the online campaign.

Notably, social media platforms have become key battlegrounds for defending and protecting Al Aqsa and Palestine. Hashtags related to Al Aqsa have flooded these platforms, with Instagram feeds increasingly featuring Al Aqsa Mosque-themed content. Furthermore, Instagram stories sharing videos that explain the Israeli attempts to impose temporal and spatial divisions at Al Aqsa have gone viral.

As the campaign gains traction, its impact in raising awareness and mobilizing support against the division of the Al Aqsa Mosque complex continues to grow.  (ILKHA)
