Turkish police detain nine suspects with alleged ISIL links in Istanbul
Turkish police apprehended nine individuals in Istanbul who are suspected of having connections with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
The arrests came after the Istanbul public prosecutor's office issued arrest warrants against the suspects.
The Provincial Security Directorate Anti-Terrorism Branch swiftly initiated simultaneous raids on various locations across the city to capture the individuals associated with ISIL. The operation aimed to neutralize potential threats and dismantle any networks linked to the extremist organization.
Currently, the detained suspects are being subjected to thorough interrogations at the provincial police department. Once the necessary official procedures at the police facility are completed, they will be transferred to the courthouse for further legal proceedings.
The successful operation by Turkish law enforcement authorities underscores the country's ongoing commitment to combating illegal organizations and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
Investigations into the alleged ISIL links of the arrested individuals are expected to shed light on their involvement and potential risks posed by their activities. (ILKHA)
