The contracts, worth 365 million Afghanis, were signed between the ministry and the private telecommunication company, marking a crucial step towards bridging the digital divide.

The signing ceremony, held in the presence of Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economics, highlighted the Islamic Emirate's commitment to improving the livelihoods of its people and considering it a national responsibility.

Deputy Prime Minister Akhund expressed deep appreciation for the dedication and efforts of Afghan businessmen and investors who contribute to the economic development of the country.

Under the newly signed contracts, leading telecommunication companies Afghan Wireless and MTN will collaborate with the MCIT to establish 33 communication sites in various provinces, including Kandahar, Nuristan, Badakhshan, Uruzgan, Zabul, Kunar, Nangarhar, and Kabul.

The primary objective of these initiatives is to bring reliable telecommunication services to remote areas, ensuring that residents have access to essential communication networks.

This expansion of telecommunication infrastructure is expected to have a transformative impact on remote communities, empowering them with increased connectivity, improved access to information, and enhanced communication capabilities. It signifies a significant step forward in the country's efforts to bridge the digital divide and promote inclusive development.

The MCIT's investment in expanding telecommunication services reflects the government's commitment to building a more connected and digitally inclusive Afghanistan. By prioritizing the development of remote areas, the Afghan Ministry of Communication is striving to create opportunities for economic growth, social development, and improved quality of life for all Afghan citizens.
