Cevdet Yılmaz expresses gratitude as vice president in Türkiye's new cabinet

Who is Cevdet Yılmaz?

After completing his high school education in Bingöl in 1983, Cevdet Yılmaz graduated with honors from the Middle East Technical University's Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, specializing in Public Administration, in 1988.

In 1989, Yılmaz commenced his career at the State Planning Organization (Turkish: Devlet Planlama Teşkilatı).

Between 1992 and 1994, Yılmaz pursued his studies in the United States and obtained a degree in International Relations from the University of Denver. He furthered his academic journey by completing a doctorate at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Bilkent University.

In 2003, Yılmaz assumed the position of Director General of EU Relations.

In the 2007 elections, Yılmaz was elected as a deputy representing Bingöl. On May 1, 2009, he was appointed as a State Minister in Prime Minister Erdoğan's second cabinet. On July 6, 2011, Yılmaz took on the role of Minister of Development in Prime Minister Erdoğan's third cabinet. (ILKHA)
