US confident in providing Ukraine with sufficient military assistance for counteroffensive
During a virtual briefing on Friday, U.S. National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications, John Kirby, expressed confidence that the United States, along with its allies and partners, has adequately fulfilled Ukraine's security requirements for conducting a counteroffensive.
Kirby highlighted that the provision of air defense systems, currently the most pressing need, is only part of the assistance being offered. The United States, alongside its allies and partners, has also supplied armored vehicles, artillery, ammunition, and conducted training programs.
Kirby emphasized the dynamic nature of combat operations and acknowledged that as the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their operations and reclaim territories, there will be a need for replenishing ammunition and equipment. The United States remains committed to supporting Ukraine and stands prepared to continue providing significant assistance in the coming weeks and months.
The assurance of support from the United States and its partners is based on the belief that Ukraine's needs have been adequately met, and it will be up to Ukraine to decide the timing of its counteroffensive.
Kirby underscored the collective efforts of the United States, allies, and partners in fulfilling Ukraine's requirements and expressed readiness to sustain support as the situation evolves. (ILKHA)
