European leaders gather in Moldova for summit on Russia's impact in Ukraine

The second gathering of the European Political Community saw the participation of nearly 50 leaders, who engaged in discussions covering crucial topics such as peace, security, energy, and climate.

Moldova's President, Maia Sandu, delivered an opening address at the summit, expressing her optimism regarding the potential of the European Political Community to evolve into a key platform for pan-European initiatives aimed at enhancing security, fostering peace, and advancing Europe as a whole.

In a notable presence, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally attended the summit, emphasizing the imperative for Europe to maintain an unwavering commitment to security, promote unity within the European Union, and effectively tackle the pressing challenges of the contemporary era. President Zelenskyy stressed the urgency of extending a "clear invitation" to NATO and making a definitive positive decision regarding Ukraine's potential accession to the EU. Moreover, he issued a warning against Russian aggression, underlining the importance of proactive measures to counter such threats.
