Russian strike on Kyiv claims lives of three civilians, including two children
A Russian strike on the city of Kyiv has resulted in the loss of three innocent lives, including two children, according to the report by Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko.
The attack, which occurred on Thursday morning, also caused injuries to 14 individuals in the Dniprovskyi and Desnianskyi districts of Kyiv.
Among the injured, nine required immediate hospitalization, while the remaining victims received assistance from emergency services.
The impact of the attack left debris scattered on the roads in the affected districts, leading to fires that have now been extinguished. Furthermore, falling debris damaged a clinic and a residential building in the Desnianskyi district.
In response to the situation, Mayor Klitschko has urged citizens to seek shelter and reassured them that the city's alarm system remains operational.
Serhii Popko, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, shared preliminary information indicating that Ukrainian air defense successfully neutralized all Russian aerial targets during the incident. It is believed that Russia employed a combination of cruise and ballistic missiles in the assault.
This recent assault on Kyiv follows a series of 17 attacks launched by Russia throughout the month of May. (ILKHA)
