Türkiye’s electoral board confident in smooth progress of presidential run-off election
Ahmet Yener, the President of Türkiye's Supreme Election Council (YSK), cast his vote in Ankara today and expressed satisfaction with the progress of the presidential run-off elections.
Following the casting of his vote, Yener addressed journalists, stating that the election process was proceeding smoothly. He emphasized that since this election solely involved the presidential candidates, the expectation was for the results to be determined earlier than previous elections.
Yener also noted the significant participation from overseas, highlighting the wide interest in the elections.
“On May 14, we had candidates and 24 political parties. As this election only involves the presidential candidates, we expect the results to be announced sooner,” he remarked.
Regarding the broadcasting ban, Yener explained that an evaluation would be made after the voting process concludes at 5:00 PM local time.
He further added: “If the broadcasting ban is lifted earlier, we will promptly provide information to television channels and news agencies.”
The presidential run-off elections in Turkey are being closely monitored, and the Supreme Election Council assures the public of a smooth and efficient electoral process. (ILKHA)
