Afghan PM meets with Pakistani official to discuss bilateral relations and trade cooperation

The discussion focused on strengthening ties and exploring opportunities for trade cooperation between the two countries, according to Afghan officials.

Kabir emphasized Afghanistan's dedication to nurturing respectful relationships with its neighbors. He expressed appreciation to Pakistan for hosting a recent ministerial meeting on Afghanistan and for their cooperation with Afghan immigrants.

The Acting Prime Minister Kabir also raised concerns regarding visa issuances for Afghan citizens, the challenges faced by Afghan refugees in Pakistan, and the need for improved travel facilities at the Torkham and Spin Boldak borders.

For his part, the Pakistani Chargé d'affaires, Obaidul Rehman Nizamani, assured Kabir of their commitment to addressing these issues and working towards resolving them in a timely manner.

Pakistani official also affirmed Pakistan's commitment to engage constructively with the Islamic Emirate, including the release of frozen Afghan assets and an increase in humanitarian aid for the Afghan people.

During the meeting, both sides acknowledged the importance of expanding bilateral ties in regional transit and various economic sectors. (ILKHA)
