Türkiye condemns deadly attack on Ugandan peacekeepers in Somalia
Turkish Foreign Ministry expresses condolences and renews commitment to support Somalia in the fight against terrorism.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry strongly condemned a terrorist attack targeting the Ugandan Peacekeeping Forces of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) stationed in the Buulo Mareer area of Somalia. The attack, which aimed at the peacekeepers, has drawn widespread condemnation.
In a statement, the Ministry expressed heartfelt condolences for the loss of lives among the AMISOM personnel who tragically lost their lives while serving to ensure peace and security for the Somali people.
The Ministry extended its deepest sympathies to the families of the fallen peacekeepers, as well as expressing solidarity with both Ugandan and Somali communities affected by this devastating event. The Ministry also emphasized its sincere wishes for a swift recovery for the injured.
