In a press release issued on Saturday, Hamas expressed outrage over the ongoing violence and accused the Israeli occupation government of protecting the settlers.

“Israeli colonial settlers continue to attack and terrorize our Palestinian people across the occupied West Bank, under the protection of the fascist Israeli occupation government,” Hamas said.

Hamas called for immediate and effective action from the Arab and international communities to support the Palestinians and address the grave situation.

“The crimes and assaults committed by the israeli occupation army and colonial settlers require effective Arab and international action to support our Palestinian people and their just cause, condemn the Israeli occupation, and hold its leaders accountable for their crimes and violations of all international norms and conventions threatening peace and stability in the Middle East.”

In response to the attacks, the European Union (EU) also expressed concerns over the violence perpetrated by settlers in the Burqa and Al Mughayyer villages. The EU condemned the settler violence and called on Israel to take decisive steps to ensure accountability and protect the Palestinian civilian population in accordance with its obligations under international law.

Data from the United Nations (UN) indicates an alarming trend of increasing and more violent settler attacks against Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories.
