The Ankara Provincial Gendarmerie Command concluded an investigation, resulting in the blocking of 727 websites and 3,298 social media accounts.

Carried out as part of a comprehensive virtual patrol from May 12th to 26th, the operation focused on scrutinizing 3,298 social media and URL addresses.

During the investigation, it was discovered that a significant number of these websites and social media accounts were involved in the dissemination of explicit content and facilitating illicit betting activities.

Taking swift action, the Ankara Provincial Gendarmerie Command promptly reported the identified accounts to the Information Technologies and Communication Authority.

Measures were then implemented to block access to the identified websites and social media accounts, effectively curbing the further spread of explicit content and illegal betting activities.

The Ankara Provincial Gendarmerie Command remains committed to maintaining a safe and regulated online environment. Working in close collaboration with relevant authorities, they continue their efforts to combat illicit activities and ensure public security. (ILKHA)
