Deadly attack in Nigerian village leaves 18 dead
At least 18 people were killed when a group of armed individuals, suspected to be herders, raided the village of Iye in Guma Local Government Area (LGA), Nigeria.
Among the fatalities were four Nigerian soldiers who arrived at the scene in response to the attack, according to local sources.
Although no group has claimed responsibility for the incident, eyewitness testimonies point towards the involvement of Fulani herdsmen.
The exact motive behind the attack remains uncertain; however, it is likely connected to an ongoing conflict between farmer and pastoralist communities. (ILKHA)
