President Erdoğan acknowledged the significance of the citizens' exercise of democratic will through the electoral process after the devastating disaster three months ago, noting that the outcome was welcomed, even if the margin was narrow.

He reassured the public that throughout his 40-year political career, he had never sparred with the nation and had never belittled or threatened them during his 21-year tenure in office.
