Nigerian police successfully rescue 10 kidnapped victims after 10 days in captivity
The Zamfara State Police Command has expressed its unwavering commitment to rescuing all kidnapped victims and reuniting them with their families, without yielding to any ransom demands.
According to an official statement, on May 18, 2023, at approximately 11 pm, a team of police tactical operatives conducted a search-and-rescue operation in a forest located within Birnin Magaji Local Government Area. As a result, 10 individuals who had been abducted from Gidan Gobirawa village in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area were successfully rescued.
The victims disclosed that they had been held captive since May 7, 2023, by bandits who had taken them to an undisclosed location. After their rescue, the victims underwent medical examinations conducted by police doctors, received necessary support, and were subsequently reunited with their respective families.
The statement affirms the dedication of the police force to safeguarding the lives and well-being of the citizens, as they continue their relentless efforts to combat criminal activities and bring back peace to the region. (ILKHA)
